The line of Afolia essential oils are 100% pure, essential oils with no added water, alcohol, carriers or other diluents. They are suitable for aromatherapy, cosmetics, and body application. As we are just starting up, the number of oils offered are not extensive, though we will be glad to source out essential oils that you might be looking for and offer it to you at a reasonable price. Because of Essential Oils intense concentration, they should be kept out of reach of children and away from light & heat. Use only by the drop or dilute in a "carrier" oil such as jojoba. Always use caution when working with essential oils. Learn about an oil before you use it. It is an excellent normalizer or balancer. Mixing Lavender oil with another essential oil will not only enhance its own action, but will also strengthen the action of any other oil mixed with it. Lavender was first recognized as a treatment for burns. It is very effective in reducing pain, scarring, infection and other effects of a bad burn. Lavender essential oil is gentle enough to be applied directly to a burn without any carrier oil. The sedative action of Lavender will calm a tickly cough. Breathing in the oil will help coughs and infection in the respiratory tract. Lavender will relieve many forms of headache. Massage it into the temples and the back of the neck. In addition, Lavender is very useful for relief of muscular pain. Muscular pain and stiffness in the shoulders and neck are a major influence in creating headaches. Bathing with Lavender will also give an enormous amount of relief to muscular pain following exercise. The same applies to relieve the pain of rheumatism, sciatica, arthritis, etc. Because of its multiple action of reducing pain locally, it lowers the reaction to pain within the central nervous system, reduces inflammation and generally tones the system. The soothing, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties of Lavender make it valuable for many skin conditions. Lavender is one of the most valuable oils for the treatment of acne. It inhibits bacteria which cause the skin infection, soothes the skin, and helps to balance the over secretion of sebum. Lavender stimulates the growth of healthy new cells and is useful for conditions of eczema. As an antidepressant, Lavender is useful for depression, relieving anger and exhaustion. The insect repellent and insecticide properties of lavender have been used for many centuries to protect clothes and household linens from moths and other small pests. Lemon Citrus limon Italy Cold-Pressed It takes as many as 3,000 lemons to produce a kilo of essential oil. Lemon oil has a number of very important properties, such as the ability to stimulate the immune system and to increase the production of white corpuscles. This is of value in the treatment of external wounds and in infectious illnesses. Lemon is also hemostatic, making it useful for minor injuries, tooth extraction and nose bleeds. For nosebleeds, soak a small pad of cotton batten in distilled Lemon oil and insert it into the nostrils. A mouthwash of Lemon is a good gum tonic. Lemon is useful for treating gingivitis, mouth ulcers, and bleeding gums after tooth extraction. Lemon also has the property of reducing temperature when applied to the body in compresses. Lemon can be used effectively in skin care. As mild bleach, it is useful in brightening dull and discoloured skin, especially the neck. It might have some effects on freckles if applied every day over a period of time. Greasy skin will be helped by lemon’s astringent property. Its antiseptic property makes it helpful for cuts, etc. It is equally valuable in treating spots and boils. It will assist in dispersing cellulite and keeping wrinkles at bay. Some believe that lemon oil has an anti-aging effect. There is no proof that this is true. Essential oil of lemon can be used as an alternative to chemicals to remove corns, warts and verrucas. Used undiluted, daily, covered with a bandage during the day and left uncovered at night, it seems to be effective. Use cautiously as lemon oil can cause skin irritation when used undiluted. It may also cause photo-toxicity on some people, so do not use on skin exposed to direct sunlight. Improve the air quality and efficiency in an office. It is one of the best oils to use in the treatment of asthma, bronchitis and colds. A hot bath containing 6 drops of marjoram will often prevent some of the secondary problems of a cold from developing. It can be massaged into the throat and chest to soothe a tickle in the throat and coughs. It is warming, analgesic and sedative nature calms and relieves spasms. Compresses are an effective medium to apply peppermint. Mix it with a cream and apply it in a halo to the forehead and neck along the hairline. It is a very effective means of getting the essential oil to the problem. In addition to relieving a headache, the cephalic property will aid in clearing the mind and leave the client feeling fresh and ready for mental effort. Peppermint can be used for shock because of its stimulant properties. It is used where there is loss or reduction of function. A loss of smell, poor sight or temporary paralysis, are examples. A few drops of this oil inhaled will produce a feeling of mental clarity. Apply a few drops to a tissue and inhale or add to a diffuser. This is great to wake up and get your brain cells going. Students report that it helped them do better in exams to smell Rosemary or a Rosemary based blend during study time and then surround themselves with the same aroma during the test. This is due not only to the stimulating powers of Rosemary, but also because memory and the area of the brain that processes scent are closely connected. Rosemary is a good analgesic without the sedative effects of many of the other painkilling oils. Used in massage, baths or even compresses, it can relieve pain in many conditions such as rheumatism or arthritis and overworked or stiff muscles. It is also known as narrow-leaved paperback tea tree, ti-tree, ti-trol and melasol. Tea Tree oil has a very wide range of applications. They all depend on two facts: This oil is active against all three categories of infectious organisms: It is a very powerful immune stimulant. Tea Tree increases the body’s ability to respond to any of the above organisms. It is an excellent oil for cold, influenza and infectious illnesses. Use it in the bath at the first sign of cold or flu. One of the beneficial affects of tea-tree oil is it stimulates sweating. Tea-Tree is used to treat acne. Alternate it with oils like Lavender and Bergamot. Some women tend to get spots around the nose and chin in the days preceding menstruation. A drop of tea tree dabbed on each spot reduces the heat and pain and clears the spots up quickly. Add up to 5-10 drops to 1 oz. of unscented body or hair care product to enhance their effectiveness. Add 2-3 drops to a bowl of hot water for a purifying steam treatment. Apply to pimples with a Q-tip 2-3 times a day. Blends well with Lavender.
